This landscape painting depicts an empty street. A thick impasto of paint covers the surface of the canvas. The visible, gestural brushstrokes point to abstraction, yet a firm connection to a recognizable subject matter is maintained. Despite of the dominance of white, the painting seems dystopian; the emptiness of the street and the moody sky imbue a sense of drama and tension.
